Necaxa approach Romario

Mexican club Necaxa wants Romario to help spear head its Copa Libertadores' second phase, club president Javier Perez Teuffer said on Friday.

Necaxa qualified for the next round on Thursday after losing 2-1 against Audax Italiano in Chile in their last game of Copa Libertadores' Group Five.

Romario is just one goal short of his 1,000th career goal, so besides reinforcing the Mexican club in the second phase, Perez Teuffer wants the champion of the World Cup 1994 to accomplish his goal in Mexico.
